For those aspiring Rebreather Divers that would like to combine the PADI Rebreather and Advanced Rebreather Courses into one, this program is for you. All skills from both courses will be covered. You will be certified to 100 feet within no decompression limits. You will be able to assemble and pre-dive your rebreather, follow unit specific checklists, safely bail out to open circuit, bail out to off-board bail out cylinder, clear a flooded loop, monitoring of heads-up display (HUD), buoyancy and trim, deploying a submersible marker buoy, rigging of off-board bail out cylinder, and rebreather dive planning just to name a few key skills.


  • Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • Have a minimum of 30 logged dives.


    The course will require 4 days of diving (including pool and open water sessions), 5 knowledge development sessions, and 4 practical applications /equipment configuration sessions.

    Depth Ranges:

    • Dive 1: 0-15
    • Dive 2: 10-30
    • Dive 3: 15-50
    • Dive 4: 15-50
    • Dive 5: 30-60
    • Dive 6: 40-70
    • Dive 7: 50-90
    • Dive 8: 60-100

    Minimum Time on Unit:

    • 440 Minutes


    Each diver will be required to have a complete rebreather, including:

    • Diving cylinders
    • 1 bail out tank with regulator, SPG, & staging kit
    • BC, back plate & harness
    • Exposure protection (dry suit use requires prior dry suit diving experience)
    • Weight system (if needed)
    • Lights as necessary, including primary and backup
    • Jon line (for current diving environments)
    • Safety reel
    • Compass
    • Z-knife and back-up cutting device
    • Spare clips, pull-ties, tank wrap bands & other rigging accessories
    • Back-up mask (optional)
    • DSMB (Delayed Surface Marker Buoy


    Poseidon MKVI Rebreather rental available for $100 per day

    Equipment provided by SLC Scuba:

    • Oxygen analyzer
    • Emergency Oxygen & first aid kit
    • Forms & support materials

    Divers will read the appropriate section of their Rebreather & Advanced Rebreather Manual and answer the Knowledge Reviews prior to the practical application portion. A score of at least 80% is required on all exams.
